πŸš• Kakao T: the taxi app that works

Street hails work, but Kakao T shows the fare, car type, and English destination pins. Uber is limited; do not plan a trip around it.

Install Kakao T (카카였 T) on Wi-Fi at the airport. Allow location. You can often pay with a foreign Visa/Mastercard in-app; keep cash/T-money as backup.
Pin the hotel in English or Korean. Drivers navigate with Kakao Map. Send the Korean address from your booking email if the pin looks wrong.
Orange regular taxis are metered. Deluxe (black) costs more. From ICN, an airport bus or AREX is usually cheaper than a taxi to Seoul.
No Uber-style tipping culture. Rounding up is optional. Emergency: 112 police, 119 fire/ambulance β€” see emergency.

Need data before you open the app β€” that is the ICN bottleneck. Activate eSIM as you walk to arrivals.
