📶 Wi-Fi that actually works in Korea
Korea is densely covered, but Google-account Wi-Fi logins and hotel “guest” networks still fail. Pair an eSIM with cafe/subway Wi-Fi as backup.
Buy data first. A Korean eSIM or airport SIM is more reliable than hunting free Wi-Fi. See the

Subway & buses. KT / SKT / LG U+ networks offer station Wi-Fi. It drops in tunnels. Download offline Naver Map before you ride.
Cafes. Most show a password on a table tent (often 8–10 digits). Starbucks Korea uses a phone/SMS login that tourists sometimes cannot complete — convenience-store Wi-Fi or your eSIM is easier.
Pocket Wi-Fi still exists at ICN counters if several people share one hotspot. For one traveler, eSIM is cheaper and skips a return desk.
Hotel lobby Wi-Fi is fine for planning; do not rely on it for Kakao T at the curb.
