๐Ÿ›ซ Gimpo is the close-in airport

Gimpo (๊น€ํฌ๊ณตํ•ญ) handles many domestic flights (especially Jeju) and some short-haul international. It is much closer to central Seoul than Incheon. Mixing up the two is the classic first-day disaster.

Check the code on your boarding pass: ICN vs GMP. Airport buses and AREX serve both, but terminals and travel times differ.
To Seoul: subway (Line 5 / 9 connections) and AREX all-stop. Faster than doing ICNโ€™s full international gauntlet.
Jeju hop: flying Gimpoโ€“Jeju is the normal island move, not a ferry-from-Incheon fantasy. Book KTX+flight as two tickets with a buffer.
If you land ICN and โ€œthe hotel said airport pickup at Gimpo,โ€ you are about to have a long, expensive argument. Show both codes to the driver app.

Terminal maps change during works. Follow in-airport screens, not a 2019 blog.
