식치

Food as medicine (식치)

Samgyetang in the heat, kimchi in the cold — folk dietetics, not a clinic.

Seasonal common sense

Korean talk about “heating” and “cooling” foods is folk medicine mixed with climate. Take it as cultural literacy: people eat samgyetang on the hottest days to sweat, and rich soups in winter. It is not a prescription. If you want health advice, ask a clinician, not a stew.
