๐Ÿงพ Tax refund without missing the flight

Many boutiques offer โ€œinstant refundโ€ after passport scan (you pay VAT-off). Otherwise you collect documents and process at the airport before security โ€” budget extra time.

Passport at the till for eligible stores. Keep receipts in one envelope. Some beauty chains do this smoothly; street stalls do not.
Minimum purchase thresholds apply per shop or per day depending on the scheme. Ask before they wrap โ‚ฉ8,000 souvenirs expecting a refund.
Airport: follow Tax Refund / ์‚ฌํ›„๋ฉด์„ธ signs at ICN. You may need to show unused goods. Do this before you check a bag full of cosmetics if the desk asks to see them.
Cards vs cash refund. Instant is easiest. Cash refund desks have queues at peak evening flights.

Refund is not a loophole for prohibited items. Customs still rules.
