🌧️ Jangma: the summer rainy season

Jangma is a stretch of humid, on-and-off rain, not 40 days of darkness. August can still dump water via typhoons. Waterproof shoes beat a $200 umbrella.

Pack: compact umbrella, quick-dry shirt, sandals that can get wet, zip bag for the phone. See packing.
Swap outdoor days: palaces in drizzle is fine; mountain ridges and boat trips are miserable. Use rainy-day indoor lists.
Subway > walking tours when the radar is solid green. Waterproof phone pouches are sold at convenience stores.
Typhoon: KTX still often runs; island ferries and flights slip. Keep a buffer day before an international departure.
