What TOPIK is
TOPIK (한국어능력시험) is the official Korean proficiency test run by NIIED, offered several times a year in Korea and abroad. TOPIK I covers levels 1–2 with Listening (30 questions, 40 min) and Reading (40 questions, 60 min), 200 points total. TOPIK II covers levels 3–6 and adds Writing. Scores are valid for two years and are used for university admission, visas (F-2/F-5 points), and jobs.

Six-week TOPIK I track
- Week 1 — Hangul solid. Alphabet chart, batchim, listen quiz. Read every syllable without romanization.
- Week 2 — Sentence engine. Sentence structure, particles, verb endings, tense, negation.
- Week 3 — Numbers and time. Native vs Sino, counters, time, dates & money. Listening sections lean hard on these.
- Week 4 — Vocabulary sprint. TOPIK I vocabulary as flashcards, 20 new cards a day; review what the scheduler shows.
- Week 5 — Grammar checklist. TOPIK I grammar — produce one sentence per pattern; open weak lessons.
- Week 6 — Test mode. TOPIK I quiz, all listen quizzes, then an official past paper from topik.go.kr with the clock running.
Test-day tips
- Listening plays once. Read the answer choices before the audio starts.
- Reading questions go from easy to hard; do not sink time into the last five.
- No penalty for guessing — never leave blanks.
- Register early on topik.go.kr; overseas seats fill within hours.

What is TOPIK?
