여보세요 to 나중에 다시 걸게요 — calls without freezing.
Open and close
Answer with 여보세요. Say who you are: 저 ___인데요. Ask if it is a bad time: 지금 통화 괜찮으세요?. End politely: 끊을게요 or 나중에 다시 걸게요.
Reception desks often say 잠시만요 before a transfer. Repeat a number digit-by-digit with Sino numbers.
