에 / 에서 — place and time

Destination vs where an action happens — the pair every traveler needs.

에 = to / at (static); 에서 = from / at (action)

학교에 가요 “I go to school.” 학교에서 공부해요 “I study at school.” Time almost always takes 에: 세 시에 만나요 “Let’s meet at 3.”

에서 also means “from” a place: 서울에서 왔어요 “I came from Seoul.”

집에 있어요.

jibe isseoyo.

I’m at home.

카페에서 일해요.

kapeeseo ilhaeyo.

I work at a café.
