Writing Hangul by hand

Stroke order that keeps blocks readable, plus what “pretty” handwriting actually does.

Left-to-right, top-to-bottom

Write each jamo the way Hangul was designed: left to right, top to bottom. For ㅇ start around 10 o’clock. For ㅎ, the top bar, then the small stroke, then the circle.

Printed fonts are geometric; handwriting rounds corners and often connects the vowel into the batchim. Nobody grades you on calligraphy at a restaurant. Aim for blocks that another Korean reader can parse at a glance.
