Give and receive (주다 / 드리다)

주세요 is the traveler’s Swiss army knife — and 드리다 is the honorific twin.

주세요 vs 주세요 to elders

물 주세요 works at any counter. When you give something up the hierarchy, switch the verb: 드릴게요 (“I’ll give it to you,” polite). Receiving from an elder often uses 받다 plus honorific address, not a special “receive” honorific you need on day three.

Benefactive 아/어 주다 means “do it for someone”: 써 주세요 “please write it (for me).”
