What the role involves
OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and ODM (original design manufacturer) companies produce cosmetics on behalf of brands. With ODM in particular, the manufacturer's own chemists may develop the formulation, which a brand then markets under its label. Korea is widely recognized for a dense, sophisticated contract-manufacturing sector, and large Korean ODM firms supply both domestic indie labels and international brands.
