Yongsan IPark Mall Guide
Listen to me carefully: Yongsan I’Park Mall (용산 아이파크몰) is not just a shopping mall. It is a beast.
If you have just stepped off the KTX at Yongsan Station, you are standing in one of the most complex architectural structures in Seoul. It is technically three buildings fused together: The Living Park, The Fashion Park, and The Taste Park.
Most tourists wander aimlessly between floors, getting frustrated because the escalator they took in the “Living Park” doesn’t lead to the restaurant they saw in the “Fashion Park.”
I am here to save you time and your sanity. As a local, I use this mall as a shortcut, a dining spot, and a geek-culture haven. This guide is your cheat sheet to navigating the chaos, finding the hidden gems (like the Ghibli store and the best IMAX screen in Korea), and eating well without waiting in hour-long lines.
⚠️ The “Local Truth” Warning: Do not trust Google Maps inside this building. It cannot handle the vertical complexity of the three connected wings.

The Cheat Sheet: Quick Floor Guide
If you are in a rush to catch a train, use this table. The mall is huge, but these are the only floors that matter for travelers.
| Floor | Zone Name | What’s Here (The Highlights) | Best For… |
| 7F | Taste Park / D7 | District 7 (Global Food), Rooftop Garden | Dinner with a view. High-end dining & fresh air. |
| 6F | The “Kidult” Zone | Nintendo, Gundam Base, Ghibli (Dotori Forest), Marvel | Otaku / Geeks / Kids. The coolest floor in the mall. |
| 4F | Fashion & Cafe | Trendy K-Fashion, Tartine Bakery, Outdoor Terrace | Vibes & Photos. Best place to relax. |
| 3F | Station Connection | Main Entrance, KTX Station, Digital Shops, Yeongpoong Bookstore | Meeting Point. If you get lost, come back here. |
| 1F | Street Level | Shake Shack, H&M, SPA Brands | Quick Bites. Grab a burger and go. |
| B1/B2 | E-Mart | Massive Supermarket | Grocery Souvenirs. Buying Gim (Seaweed) & Snacks. |
Navigation Hack – The “Three Parks” System
Before you start shopping, you must understand the layout. Stand in the Grand Hall (3rd Floor) where the train station ticket gates are.
-
Fashion Park: Located to the Left (if facing the main mall entrance). This is clothing, shoes, and cosmetics.
-
Living Park: Located to the Right. This contains home goods, hobbies (toys), and the bookstore.
-
Taste Park: Located in the Center/Back. This is where the food is.
Pro Tip: The buildings are connected by “Sky Bridges” on the 4th and 6th floors. If you are stuck in the Living Park and want to get to Fashion, go to the 4th floor and walk across the outdoor garden terrace (The Garden).
The “Kidult” Heaven (6th Floor Living Park)
Target: Anime Fans, Gamers, and Collectors.
If you read nothing else, read this. The 6th Floor of the Living Park is legendary among Seoul locals. We call it the “Kidult” (Kid + Adult) zone. If you are looking for rare figures or exclusive merch, this is better than Myeongdong.
-
The Gundam Base (건담베이스): A massive store for Gunpla models. They often have limited edition kits you can’t find elsewhere.
-
Nintendo Store: One of the few official Nintendo stores in Korea. You can play demos and buy plushies (Kirby, Mario, Pokemon).
-
Dotori Forest (Ghibli Store – 도토리숲): This looks like it was ripped straight out of My Neighbor Totoro. There is a massive Catbus photo spot here. You must take a photo.
-
Marvel Collection: High-end figurines and apparel for MCU fans.
📸 Photo Op: Right next to the Ghibli store, there is often a “Pop-up” stairwell that is decorated with different themes (usually anime or character collaborations). Check it out.

K-Fashion & Aesthetic Cafes (4th Floor)
Target: Trendsetters and Instagrammers.
Skip the luxury brands on the 1st floor (you can find those anywhere). Go to the 4th Floor Fashion Park. This is where you find the trendy, wearable K-style brands.
The “Urban Nature” Vibe:
The 4th floor is famous for its open layout that mixes shopping with cafes.
-
Tartine Bakery: Yes, the famous SF bakery. The line is shorter here than in Hannam-dong. Grab a Country Loaf or a Croissant.
-
Four B (포비): Famous for bagels and cream cheese. The view from the window looks out over the station plaza.
Interactive Navigation:
To find the best cafes, look for signs saying “The Garden” (deriving from the mall’s concept “Urban Nature”). The cafes surround the outdoor wooden deck.
Where to Eat? (Taste Park vs. Station Food)

You have two choices for food, depending on your budget and time.
Option A: “I have 20 minutes before my train.”
Stay on the 3rd Floor (Station Concourse).
-
There are fast food spots (Lotteria, convenience stores) inside the station.
-
Kakao T/Uber Note: Don’t try to call a taxi here; the traffic is a nightmare. Use the Subway (Line 1).
Option B: “I want a proper Korean meal.”
Go to Taste Park, 7th Floor (District 7).
This is a curated food hall, not a cafeteria. The lighting is dim, the design is industrial-chic, and the food is high quality.
-
Namdo Bunsik (남도분식): Try the lettuce-wrapped spicy pork or high-quality Tteokbokki.
-
Jang Sarang (장사랑): Excellent Cold Noodles (Naengmyeon) and Bulgogi.

💡 Cultural Context – The “Buzzer” System:
In the food courts (especially 7th floor), you order at a kiosk or counter, and they give you a round buzzer. Place it on your table. When it vibrates and lights up, run back to get your food. Do not leave your tray on the table when finished; return it to the “Return” shelf. It’s simply good manners.
Logistics & Traveler Hacks
1. Luggage Storage (Crucial!)
You are likely here because you are taking a KTX. You don’t want to drag your suitcase through the Gundam store.
-
Location: Inside Yongsan Station (3rd Floor), near the ticket gates.
-
Warning: These lockers fill up by 10:00 AM on weekends.
-
Alternative: There is a “T-Luggage” service center near Exit 1 of the subway station (Line 1 side) that can store larger bags manually.
2. Tax Refund
Did you spend over 30,000 KRW? You are eligible for an immediate tax refund.
-
Where: most individual stores (like Nike or Uniqlo) will do an immediate tax deduction if you show your passport.
-
Kiosk: There is a Global Tax-Free kiosk usually located on the 3rd Floor (near the Information Desk) or 6th Floor (check the map as they move it occasionally).
3. The “Secret” Supermarket
If you want to buy Korean snacks (seaweed, almonds, Soju) to take home, do NOT buy them at the convenience store. Go to E-Mart in the Basement (B1/B2). It is cheaper and has a massive selection.
Where to Stay (The Connected Hotels)
If you are using Yongsan as your base (which is smart, because the KTX goes everywhere), stay at Dragon City.
This is a cluster of hotels (Novotel, Ibis, Grand Mercure) connected to the mall via a walkway on the 3rd Floor. You never have to step outside in the rain or cold.
-
Novotel Ambassador Seoul Yongsan: Best mid-range luxury.
-
Ibis Styles: Budget-friendly, younger vibe.
(Self-check: Ensure you book early, as these fill up with business travelers).
Conclusion: Don’t Just Pass Through
Yongsan I’Park Mall is often seen as just a “waiting room” for the KTX. But if you know where to look—specifically the 6th-floor hobby zone and the 7th-floor food district—it’s one of the best modern cultural experiences in Seoul.
Take an hour, explore the “Kidult” zone, grab a coffee at Tartine, and enjoy the AC before your train ride.
