A fancam (직캠, jikcam) is a video that follows one member of a group throughout a stage, instead of cutting between members like a broadcast edit.

What a fancam captures

Where a TV broadcast switches camera angles across the whole group, a fancam stays locked on a single member for the entire song. This lets fans watch one person's choreography, expressions, and stage presence without interruption.

Fan-filmed and official fancams

Originally fancams were filmed by fans at concerts and music shows. Today many broadcasters and agencies also release "official" direct-cams, where each member gets a dedicated single-member video of the same performance.

❓ FAQ

What does "직캠" mean?

It is the Korean word (jikcam) for a direct-cam, i.e. a single-member fancam.

Are fancams official?

Both exist: fan-filmed fancams and official single-member cams released by broadcasters or agencies.
