Airport still matters

Instant till refunds sometimes still require you to show goods or paperwork on departure. Pay-then-refund always does. Leave time at Incheon or Gimpo for the refund desk or kiosk; liquids in original packaging are easier to present than a half-used tube. Customs and refund companies set the rules, not Olive Young marketing.

What this does not cover

Duty-free downtown (사전면세) is a different system: you often collect at the airport instead of walking out with bags. Olive Young high-street shops are ordinary retail plus VAT refund, not airport duty-free. For prestige counters and department stores the paperwork can differ again.
