Insadong, in central Seoul, is famous for art galleries, antique and craft shops, calligraphy supplies, traditional tea houses, and the Ssamziegil shopping complex. Its character is rooted in Korean heritage, which makes it a natural setting for products tied to traditional aesthetics and ingredients.

Hanbang and traditional beauty

'Hanbang' refers to traditional Korean herbal medicine, and a number of Korean skincare lines market themselves around hanbang-inspired ingredients such as ginseng and various herbal extracts. In and around Insadong you can find gift-oriented traditional cosmetics, herbal soaps, and souvenir beauty items. Note that 'hanbang-inspired' is a marketing and heritage framing; such products are cosmetics, not medical treatments, and ingredient efficacy varies.

Tips for visitors

Insadong is walkable from Anguk Station and is a popular spot for souvenirs and gifts.
