Mayu (Horse Oil) in summer: how to adjust
Using Mayu (Horse Oil) in summer: the season brings heat, humidity, sweat and peak UV, so what changes is texture, frequency and what you layer around it — not usually whether you use it at all.
마유 (mayu) is rendered horse fat, a Jeju souvenir-shop staple and a genuine folk remedy for chapped winter skin. Its fatty acid mix is unusually similar to human sebum, which is the usual explanation for why it absorbs so well. That similarity is documented; the leaping claims about regeneration are not. Not for vegans, obviously.
What summer does to your skin
Heat, humidity, sweat and excess oil call for lightweight, fast-absorbing layers and a high, re-applied sunscreen.
How that changes Mayu (Horse Oil)
Summer rewards lighter textures and punishes anything occlusive. Strength of active matters less than whether it survives a humid day. Mayu (Horse Oil) works on dryness & dehydration, damaged moisture barrier, flaking & peeling, and it is normally applied PM.
