Carbomer in spring: how to adjust
Using Carbomer in spring: the season brings rising UV and pollen-season reactivity, so what changes is texture, frequency and what you layer around it — not usually whether you use it at all.
If your gel cream holds its shape on the back of your hand instead of running off it, carbomer is usually why. It is a thickener, nothing more, and it needs a neutralising agent to work — which is one reason you often see sodium hydroxide or arginine a few lines later on the same label.
