A deliberately minimal ampoule: centella asiatica extract from Madagascar and very little else, sold in a large dropper bottle at a price that makes people use it generously. Centella is the most-studied soothing botanical in Korean skincare, and its isolated fractions have decent support for the appearance of redness and irritation. The formula's whole argument is subtraction — no fragrance, no essential oils, nothing extra for reactive skin to catch on.

Sensitive and easily-flushed skin, oily skin that reacts to richer soothing products, and anyone running a routine with acids or retinoids who needs a neutral layer on the off nights. Normal skin can use it as a light hydrating step. Dry skin should not expect it to moisturise — there is almost nothing occlusive in the bottle, and a cream on top is mandatory.
How to use it
After cleansing and toner, before moisturiser, morning and evening if you like. Several drops pressed into the face, which is easy given the bottle size. It absorbs almost instantly and layers under sunscreen without pilling. Useful as a first-aid step: a generous layer under a plain moisturiser on a day when your skin has had enough.
