COSRX One Step Original Clear Pad 원스텝 오리지널 클리어 패드

⏱ 2 min read
Quick answer: One Step Original Clear Pad is COSRX's toner pad, built around BHA (Salicylic). Oily and blemish-prone skin that wants a low-effort exfoliating step, and anyone who travels enough that a bottle is a nuisance.

The pad that established the toner-pad format outside Korea. Each is soaked in a mildly acidic solution with betaine salicylate and willow bark, with an embossed side for a light physical sweep and a smooth side for a gentler pass. It is a leave-on product despite looking like a wipe, which is the part people miss. Convenient, well established, and one of the cheapest ways to trial a mild BHA.

🧽 BHA (Salicylic)

Who it suits

Oily and blemish-prone skin that wants a low-effort exfoliating step, and anyone who travels enough that a bottle is a nuisance. Good for the T-zone specifically. Dry and sensitive skin will usually find an acid plus a physical sweep too much across the whole face — treating just the nose and chin is the safer approach.

How to use it

After cleansing, sweep one pad over the areas that need it — most people do not need the full face — and let it dry before the next step. Start two or three evenings a week. Use the textured side sparingly. Follow with hydrating toner and moisturiser, and wear sunscreen daily.

⚠️ Worth knowing: Pads invite over-use because they are effortless: a nightly full-face sweep, twice on a bad day, and a fortnight later the skin is tight and stinging. The embossed side is also more abrasive than it looks. There is a waste consideration too — a single-use cotton pad every night adds up, and a bottle of the same acid costs less per application.
