COSRX Oil-Free Ultra-Moisturizing Lotion with Birch Sap
An emulsion — 에멀전 (emeoljeon), the milky lotion step Korean routines use in place of a cream — built on birch sap rather than water, with no added facial oils. It absorbs in seconds and leaves almost nothing behind, which is the entire point: it seals a routine for skin that reads any cream as too much. It has sat in COSRX's line-up for years and the formula is deliberately unfashionable.
What it is built around
Who it suits
Oily and breakout-prone skin that keeps abandoning moisturiser because everything feels greasy, and combination skin in humid weather. It is also a sensible summer swap for people who use something heavier the rest of the year. Dry skin will find it thin — it hydrates but does not cushion, and in winter you will want a lipid-rich layer sitting on top of it.
How to use it
After serum, morning and night. Two or three pumps for face and neck, patted in while skin is still damp from toner. In the morning give it a minute to settle before sunscreen, or the two can roll together. Dry skin can use it as a first light layer under a richer cream rather than as the whole seal.
