COSRX Acne Pimple Master Patch
A sheet of hydrocolloid dots in three sizes, and the single product that turned spot patches from a Korean pharmacy habit into a global one. Hydrocolloid is a wound-dressing material: it swells as it draws fluid out of a blemish that has already opened, going opaque white as it fills. There are no actives here at all — no salicylic acid, no tea tree, no niacinamide. The design is purely physical: cover the spot, flatten it, keep your fingers off it.
Who it suits
Best on the specific spot that has come to a head or been picked open, because that is the only situation where hydrocolloid has anything to absorb. Suits oily, combination and blemish-prone skin, and it is tolerable for sensitive skin precisely because nothing is delivered into it. It does very little for a deep closed bump under the surface, and nothing at all for blackheads.
How to use it
Cleanse and dry the area properly first — the patch will not grip damp or freshly moisturised skin. Press on the smallest dot that covers the spot, leave it six hours or overnight, and lift it off once the centre has turned white and opaque. It goes on bare skin, before serums and moisturiser, not on top of them.
