The balm that made cleansing balms a category outside Korea. A sherbet-textured solid that melts on contact with warm skin, breaks down makeup, sunscreen and sebum, then emulsifies with water into a milk you rinse away. There is no headline active and the brand does not really claim one โ the whole product is texture, reliability and a spatula. It has been on shelves long enough to be one of the most thoroughly reviewed cleansers in K-beauty, which counts for something.
Who it suits
Almost everyone, which is exactly why it sells. Dry and normal skin get a comfortable first cleanse that does not strip; anyone wearing base makeup or a proper layer of sunscreen gets a thoroughness gel cleansers cannot match. Oily and blemish-prone skin often prefers the Purifying version. If you wear waterproof mascara daily, a balm like this is the most useful single addition to a routine.
How to use it
Scoop with the spatula rather than wet fingers, and work roughly a large blueberry's worth into completely dry skin for thirty to sixty seconds. Add water a little at a time and massage until the balm turns white and milky, then rinse lukewarm and follow with a water-based cleanser. Evening only โ there is nothing to dissolve at 7am.
