How to Get the Most From a Korean Sheet Mask
Sheet masks are a hallmark of Korean skincare, delivering a concentrated dose of hydrating essence in a single-use fabric mask. Using them correctly takes only a few minutes.
Prep and Apply
Use a sheet mask on cleansed skin, ideally after toner so the essence absorbs into a clean, prepped base. Unfold the mask, smooth it over your face, and press out air bubbles so it makes good contact. Adjust it around the eyes, nose, and mouth for a snug fit.
Timing Matters
Leave the mask on for the time recommended on the package, often around 15 to 20 minutes. Avoid leaving it on until it dries out completely, because a dried mask can begin to draw moisture back from the skin rather than adding it. Remove it while it is still damp.
After the Mask
Pat the remaining essence into your skin rather than rinsing it off, then continue with your usual moisturizer to seal everything in. Sheet masks are a hydration boost, not a replacement for a full routine. Patch-test if you have sensitive skin, and avoid masks with fragrances if you tend to react.
