Uvinul T 150: the most efficient UVB filter in a Korean sunscreen
Uvinul T 150, or ethylhexyl triazone, is among the most efficient UVB filters available — it delivers high UVB protection at a low use level, which frees up room in the formula for other filters and for a lighter texture. It is photostable and oil-soluble.
High protection, small dose
Its efficiency is the point. Because a small percentage delivers substantial UVB absorption, a formulator can hit a high SPF without loading the formula with filter, and can spend the remaining space on UVA coverage or on the emollients that make a sunscreen pleasant.
UVB only
It is a UVB specialist and contributes essentially nothing in the UVA range. It never appears alone — it is always paired with UVA filters such as Uvinul A Plus or one of the Tinosorbs, which is exactly the combination you see on Korean sunscreen labels.
Why it suits Korean textures
Efficiency plus photostability plus oil solubility is the combination that makes a high-SPF sunscreen feel like a serum. It is one of the quiet reasons SPF 50+ Korean sunscreens do not feel like SPF 50+.
Regulatory status
Approved in Korea, the EU and Japan. Not approved in the United States.

🙋 People also ask
Why is Korean sunscreen considered better?
Korean sunscreens are often praised for elegant, lightweight textures that feel pleasant enough to wear daily, which encourages consistent use. They frequently use newer filters approved in Korea but not the US. Preferences are partly cosmetic; effectiveness depends on applying enough and reapplying regardless of brand.
Why is Korean sunscreen better?
Because Korea approves modern UV filters — Uvinul A Plus, Tinosorb S and M among them — that give strong UVA protection in light, non-greasy textures. Some markets, notably the US, have not approved them.
