Sunscreen Reapplication: what the evidence says
The claim: You must reapply sunscreen every two hours for protection to hold.
Strong evidence
What the research actually shows
Reapplying sunscreen is well-established sun-protection guidance: apply generously and reapply roughly every two hours, and sooner after swimming, sweating or toweling off, because protection degrades with time and activity. Most people also apply too little to begin with, so adequate amount and reapplication together matter more than the specific SPF number. Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, reapplied, is a cornerstone of supporting healthy-looking skin and limiting UV-driven signs of aging. This reflects consensus dermatology guidance.
