Korean Aesthetic Clinic Pricing Culture: Packages, Shots and 이벤트
Korean aesthetic pricing is built around bundles rather than single sessions: courses of treatments, counted 'shots' for energy devices, prepaid memberships and rotating 이벤트 (ibenteu, 'event') promotions. Advertised figures frequently assume a package and may exclude tax, so the first number you see is rarely the number you pay. This page describes the structure only — it quotes no prices, names no clinics, and any quote should come from a licensed clinic that has assessed you.
The bundle is the default unit
Where some markets price a single appointment, Korean clinics tend to price a course, and the per-session figure improves as the bundle grows. Layered on top is a constant churn of 이벤트 promotions, seasonal offers and referral discounts, which is why quoted figures move and why comparison shopping feels slippery. None of this is unique to Korea, but the density of clinics competing in areas such as Gangnam makes the promotional cycle unusually visible. Treat the structure as a sales format, not as clinical guidance.
Counting units that look comparable and are not
Energy devices are sold by 샷, fillers by volume, neuromodulators by units. Those units make clinics look comparable on a spreadsheet while hiding the variables that matter: which device, what depth and energy, how a product was prepared, and how experienced the person delivering it is. A larger unit count at a lower price may reflect a different device generation or a less experienced operator. If you are choosing between quotes, the units are the least informative part of them.
Prepayment carries its own risk
Packages are usually paid up front, sometimes as long-running memberships. That concentrates risk on the buyer: circumstances change, skin responds unexpectedly, clinics occasionally close, and refund terms for unused sessions vary and are not always generous. Visitors carry an extra version of this problem, because a course bought during one trip assumes another trip. Read what happens to unused sessions before paying, and be wary of a discount whose entire value depends on your returning many times.
Price should not be driving a medical decision
Consultations sometimes carry same-day pricing that expires when you leave, which is a sales technique rather than a clinical rationale. A procedure that is unwise for you does not become wise because it is discounted today. Being willing to leave, think, and return is entirely normal, and a clinic comfortable with that is showing you something worth noticing. This page gives no figures and no recommendation; what a procedure should cost is far less important than whether a licensed doctor, having examined you, thinks it appropriate at all.
